School of Social Work Strategic Master Plan
The University of Texas at Austin
Austin, TX
Description
The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work (SSW) Strategic Master Plan was developed through a series of stakeholder-driven workshops. The plan outlines a series of conceptual transformations providing a framework to renovate and modernize the facility, allowing it to compete with similarly distinguished institutions and to better facilitate the College’s teaching and research mission. Due to the complex and ever-changing nature of the growing UT Austin campus, the plan proposes multiple phases for growth. The impending development of the Dell Medical School District, as well as adjacent athletics facilities, add complexity to the long-term intentions of the building. Because of these unknowns, the Strategic Master Plan serves as a guideline for accommodating future growth demands with long-term renovation options while short and mid-term options address the immediate space needs. The Plan also investigates opportunities for site improvements.
